Codex Quota Planner Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 17, 2026
This privacy policy applies to Codex Quota Planner, a Chrome extension that adds local quota planning information to the ChatGPT Codex Analytics Usage page.
Information the extension handles
Codex Quota Planner reads and stores only the information needed to calculate and display quota plans:
- The weekly quota percentage remaining and reset time shown on the Codex Analytics Usage page.
- The time when the extension observes those values.
- The browser time zone and UTC offset, which define quota-day boundaries and format reset times.
- The fixed Analytics page path and limited technical metadata used to validate observations, detect changes in the source card, and maintain cycle and daily records.
The extension does not collect names, email addresses, account identifiers, payment information, physical location, authentication data, cookies, session tokens, chats, prompts, code, files, or project names. It does not access Chrome browsing history or activity on other pages. It does not record clicks, mouse movement, scrolling, or keystrokes.
How the information is used
The extension uses this information only to:
- Calculate the fixed seven-day plan and the allowance available from the current time.
- Show how much quota remains until the next reset-aligned daily checkpoint.
- Measure quota use observed since the first check in a quota day.
- Keep daily plan totals stable and restore the planner after the extension service worker restarts.
Local storage and retention
All extension data stays in chrome.storage.local within the user’s current Chrome profile. The extension has no account system or cloud synchronization.
The extension periodically removes daily records older than 60 days and retains no more than eight quota-cycle summaries. The latest observation remains until a newer observation replaces it or the extension data is removed. Uninstalling the extension removes its local storage. A user can also remove the stored data at any time by removing the extension from Chrome.
Data sharing and external services
The extension does not send user data to the developer or any external server. It has no telemetry, analytics SDK, advertising, or external API integration. It does not sell or transfer user data to third parties.
The extension does not use or transfer data for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, lending, or any purpose unrelated to quota planning. No person reviews or processes the locally stored extension data.
Permissions and site access
Codex Quota Planner requests the storage permission so it can save the local observations and plan state described above. Its site access is limited to https://chatgpt.com/codex/cloud/settings/analytics*, with an additional runtime check for the Usage route. It does not run on other websites or other ChatGPT pages.
All executable code is included in the extension package. The extension does not download or execute remote code.
Changes to this policy
This page will be updated before the extension begins handling information in a materially different way. The date at the top will show when the policy was last revised.
